EU to crack down on hidden charges for air tickets

The European Commission is to unveil plans aimed at stopping airlines advertising cheap flights while concealing the real price of tickets through various hidden charges.

EU transport commissioner Jacques Barrot will today (18 July) announce the initiative to ensure airlines publicise full fares, including booking, credit card fees and taxes on their websites, several European papers report.
