Nato enlargement could be at stake if U.S. troops are not granted immunity from prosecution by the new International Criminal Court. This was made clear by Pierre-Richard Prosper, US Ambassador-at-Large for War Crimes Issues in a video- transmitted interview with Danish journalists on Tuesday.
Mr Prosper said the US could not avoid raising the issue within the Alliance, if Nato applicants did not accept signing. The Alliance meets next in Prague in November.
