Big five push asylum and immigration issue
The five larger EU countries are once again pushing for a strengthening of European immigration and asylum rules, after the countries' Justice and Home affairs ministers this week announced that there was clear evidence of a link between people smuggling and international terrorists, reports the Danish newspaper Politiken.
"We have proof, which we cannot make public, that such a connection exists and our police have come to the conclusion that the immigration and terror mafia are running together", said the Spanish Justice and Home affairs minister, Angel Acebes, according to Politiken.

The latest push comes after an informal meeting in Spain, between Mr Acebes and his counterparts from France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom.
The five also reached agreement on requesting that police chiefs conduct and analyse problems and obstacles in their fight against terrorism, organised crime and immigration.
